MADRID (AP) – Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta says winning the “clasico” against Real Madrid this weekend would be the best way to honor the late Johan Cruyff.

The Dutch soccer great, who died last Thursday of lung cancer at 68, is largely credited with launching the club’s era of trophy success, both as a player and a coach.

Iniesta told a news conference in Barcelona on Wednesday that “without a doubt it would be very nice to defeat Madrid and dedicate the victory to Cruyff.”

Barcelona says there will be a tribute to Cruyff before the game at the Camp Nou, where a mosaic of 90,000 cards held by fans will display the words “Thanks, Johan,” in Catalan. The words will also appear on Barcelona’s jerseys.
