SWFL protesters hit the streets over Planned Parenthood controversy

FORT MYERS, Fla. Hundreds of people gathered at the intersection of Winkler Road and College Parkway Saturday morning for a protest surrounding the future of Planned Parenthood.

The possibility of defunding Planned Parenthood is an issue sweeping our nation and supporters on both sides of the spectrum came to voice their opinions.

“I want him [Donald Trump] to defund Planned Parenthood as he promised,” said seasonal resident Maryanne Kveck.

But fellow resident Rosemarie Loveday believes otherwise.

“I’m fearful of us going back 200 years when women had no rights,” she said.

Similar protests have taken place all over the nation, including Seattle, Detroit, St, Louis, Dallas and St. Paul, Minnesota.
