Collier County runs to help Special Olympics

EAST NAPLES, Fla. Southwest Florida residents ran for a good cause Friday morning at the 33rd annual Torch Run.

The 4.8 mile run began at 8 a.m. run began at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office headquarters on 3319 Tamiami Trail East. Participants then traveled to the Naples Police Department on 355 Riverside Cir and finish at the Publix on 4601 Ninth St. N. in Naples.

Special Olympics Athletes in Southwest Florida, past Special Olympics athletes and coach Michael Lynch participated in the run, according to a press release.

The event aims to raise awareness for the Florida Special Olympics.
