Mobile fire in North Fort Myers on May 2.

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. A Tuesday morning fire left a woman without a home.

The fire started at approximately 10 a.m. on the 4000 block of Mailbox Avenue, officials said. The North Fort Myers Fire Department initially responded to a call about a circuit breaker explosion, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The owner of the mobile home was unharmed, but her dog was killed in the blaze, nearby residents said.

“All you could see was just flames going over, and I just thought to myself, ‘Oh no,'” neighbor Shirley Sisler said.

The owner was uninsured. She’s receiving help from friends and the American Red Cross.
