A 34-year-old Fort Myers woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on I-75 near Luckett Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash, which shut down southbound I-75 for several hours, happened when the woman abruptly veered right in her SUV, hit a guardrail and went down an embankment. The SUV then hit the base of a light pole, overturned and caught fire.
The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of crash victims, citing Marsy’s Law.
