According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a crash near Three Oaks and Estero parkways on Dec. 15. The report states a second vehicle traveling south on Three Oaks failed to stop at a red light and drove into the path of the woman’s vehicle. The vehicle the woman was a passenger in was driven by an 80-year-old Estero man who was taken to Gulf Coast Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle that troopers say didn’t stop at the red light is a 65-year-old woman from Bonita Springs. The crash remains under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
