LCSO is investigating a shooting on Mars Street. (CREDIT: WINK News) One man is dead and two others are injured after a shooting at a Lee County home early Sunday. The two men injured were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to a shooting in the 4900 block of Mars Street, just east of Ortiz Avenue and south of Luckett Road. When they arrived, deputies say they encountered three men who had been shot several times. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. and a man was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. A neighbor told WINK News he’s never seen this kind of police activity in the neighborhood before. He says he heard nine gunshots this morning. LCSO is calling this a homicide investigation and says it is an isolated incident with no danger to the public. No other information is known at this time including what led to the shooting, who committed this crime, and if deputies have any suspects. The investigation is ongoing. This is a developing story.
