Get ready for a weather treat, as we’ll get to enjoy some beautiful conditions across Southwest Florida on Tuesday as high pressure settles back in.

Tuesday morning will bring a chilly start to the day, with temperatures in the 40s and low 50s near sunrise. This is shaping up to be the coldest morning we’ve seen so far this winter!

Despite the wall-to-wall blue sky and sunshine we’ll see Tuesday, highs will only manage to warm into the upper 60s for most by the afternoon.

A warming trend will kick off Wednesday, with highs returning to the middle 70s after another chilly start to the day. We’ll afternoon temperatures back to around 80 by Thursday.

Dry weather persists through Thursday, but rain chances will return to the forecast beginning Friday as a cold front approaches the area. For now, the front looks to pass through sometime during the weekend, likely around the Saturday night time frame. We’ll have to monitor the potential for thunderstorms as we get closer to that event.

The National Weather Service has also confirmed that the EF2 tornado that whirled through Iona on Sunday was on the ground over four times longer than earlier thought.
