Near-record heat on Thursday

Get ready for a warm February day across Southwest Florida. Afternoon high temperatures will be 2 to 3 degrees from our daily records, with highs back into the mid-80s under a mostly sunny sky.

Look for breezy weather persisting, with winds sustained up to 15 mph and gusts up to and over 20 mph for some.

The warm weather persists through Friday, where we will be back into the mid-80s once again. Look for a chance for a stray shower in the afternoon, but otherwise another quiet day Friday.

Rain chances ramp up for Saturday as a slow-moving front approaches the area. We’ll see isolated rain Saturday, with just a few showers Sunday through Tuesday of next week.

With additional cloud cover and slightly cooler air moving in behind the aforementioned front, highs will fall back into the mid-70s next week.
