Pedestrian killed in North Fort Myers crash

A 35-year-old woman from Dade City was killed in North Fort Myers early Saturday morning.

The woman was standing in the inside lane of Pine Island Road, near the intersection of Verona Drive, when a vehicle traveling east, driven by a 29-year-old Cape Coral man, struck her, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just after 12:30 a.m.

The woman was pronounced dead on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
