A man led deputies on a Sunday night chase from Hendry County into Lee County before being arrested on First Street in Fort Myers.

This chase happened within one week of another high-speed chase in Lee County, which ended on I-75 at Alico Road. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Sunday night’s car chase began in Hendry County and only ended in Lee after the suspect’s vehicle ran out of gas and he took off running.

LCSO’s aviation unit caught it all on camera. Near the suspect’s vehicle, a man can be seen running in between houses and trees near Palm Beach Boulevard, trying to escape deputies. He wore a mask, gloves and a hoodie.

The suspect is seen jumping a fence and continuing to run before deputies catch up with him. He puts his hands up and gets down on the ground as deputies and canines rush in to detain him in a backyard on First Street.

The man was transported back to the Hendry County Jail. He faces multiple charges.
