A Naples man is facing several charges after a proactive traffic stop by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office recovered eight stolen checks.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Garibaldi Rodriguez-Bryan, 31, faces various charges including possession of personal information of five or more people, possession of a forged or stolen driver’s license or ID, and more.

“This is an example of the professional law enforcement activities our deputies perform day in and day out,” Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “As a result of this traffic stop this person is no longer victimizing others and eight stolen checks were recovered before they could be fraudulently cashed.”

Rodriguez-Bryan was initially pulled over because of a traffic infraction at the intersection of Collier Boulevard and Golden Gate Parkway shortly before 10 p.m.

After he was pulled over, deputies discovered his license was suspended.

Also, Rodriguez-Bryan was in possession of a Georgia license with his name on it while it actually belonged to somebody else.

Inside the car, deputies discovered eight checks that were stolen from residential and business mailboxes in Collier County. One of the checks was changed making it payable to Rodriguez-Bryan.
