By the afternoon, temperatures will soar into the upper 80s, with lower 90s inland. A high of 87 would tie the record high set back in 1997. Looking ahead to the workweek, the big story is going to be the heat as highs soar into the mid-80s as high pressure dominates our weather pattern. Otherwise, we look mostly dry through the week with a mixture of sun and clouds. By next weekend, there could be enough moisture for a few showers.
