The Lee County enacted burn ban has now expired due to heavy rainfall.

The burn ban was previously enacted on June 4 due to the increasingly dry conditions throughout Southwest Florida.

The county’s ordinance had banned “outdoor burning ignition sources,” including campfires, bonfires and trash burning.

In the press release, Lee County stated that the ban was taken down due to excessive rainfall; however, the county did not specify whether it would be reinstated when conditions cleared.
