Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that the state has suspended all tolls in West Florida, Central Florida and Alligator Alley ahead of Hurricane Milton.

The suspension was enacted at 10:30 a.m. Monday and will continue until it is safe to return to evacuated areas.

Crews are prioritizing debris cleanup ahead of the storm and will work until it’s no longer safe to do so.

In the last 24 hours, the state has removed almost 500 truckloads of debris, totaling 9,000 cubic yards, from the barrier islands and Pinellas County.

There are over 200 state assets, such as dump trucks and other vehicles.

The state currently has 5,000 guardsmen who are mobilized for the response to this storm and 3,000 additional guardsmen who will be mobilized prior to landfall.
