Charlotte County Emergency Management announced a few updates on closures on Thursday night after Hurricane Milton. According to the Charlotte County Emergency Management, access to Gasparilla Island is closed to residents and visitors. The only people allowed on the island for the time being are emergency response personnel so they can conduct search and rescue operations and disaster recovery services. The organization also announced that all Charlotte County community service facilities are closed indefinitely. Some of the areas included are parks, recreation centers, libraries, playgrounds, pools and park amenities.
