LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Authorities are still working to track down a fugitive from Gainesville who is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Members of the U.S. Marshals have been on the hunt for 24-year-old Justin Emmanuel Jones in the central Fort Myers area.

Jones is wanted out of Gainesville for attempted murder, robbery with a firearm and other related weapons charges.

Officials say Jones is accused of robbing and shooting a man four times, then fleeing to Fort Myers.

Jones was last seen in the Metro Parkway area, near the Westwood Apartment complex, late Wednesday afternoon, where he evaded arrest by running into a wooded area, with the assistance of several accomplices.

According to authorities, Jones is no stranger to law enforcement, with 13 previous bookings in Lee County alone. He was arrested at age 17 on robbery charges, followed by additional arrests for multiple counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and the possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

In 2013, Jones earned the designation of a convicted felon on the heels of an arrest for the sale and delivery of cocaine in Alachua County.

Anyone who has seen Jones within the last few hours is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
