FORT MYERS, Fla.- Neighbors living in Pelican Preserve had a tough time getting leaving their gated community Thursday morning because of a gas leak. Roadblocks closed off all traffic on Treeline Avenue from just south of Colonial Boulevard to Pelican Preserve Boulevard. Fort Myers police say a ruptured pipe caused the leak. Utility crews were out on the scene working to get things fixed. Right now, one northbound lane is still closed for gas line repairs. All southbound lanes are open and access to Pelican Preserve is back open as well.
