CAPE CORAL, Fla. –  The Cape Coral Police Department is reminding drivers to buckle their seat belts. The next “Click It or Ticket” campaign of 2015 is about to start.

Starting May 18, Cape Coral Police are joining with law enforcement agencies all over the state and will be focusing on enforcing seatbelt use.

Officers will be looking for seatbelt violations as primary offenses and will be issuing tickets instead of warnings to drivers who don’t buckle up, or who don’t have their passengers properly restrained.

The Cape Coral Police Department Public Affairs Officer, Det. Sergeant Dana Coston says, “Click It or Ticket helps us to raise awareness among drivers and remind them to get in the habit of buckling their seatbelt and making sure their passengers are properly restrained.”
