LEE COUNTY, Fla.- In a few weeks, thousands of Southwest Florida families will line up in hope of help. The Adopt-A-Student program helps families get everything their children need to succeed in the classroom. “We’re low on funds so it’s gonna be helping us to get her prepared, so she won’t feel embarrassed when she goes to school and doesn’t have the supplies,” said parent Carolyn Dodson. Families like Dodson’s count on the Multicultural Centre of Southwest Florida. They get up every year before the sun to save a spot in line. This year, WINK News is asking for your help. Donating is as easy as clicking here. The backpacks will be given out in August. For just $10, the Multicultural Centre can begin purchasing the bags and supplies.
