PGPD: 7-Eleven employee shot to death

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- A Punta Gorda 7-Eleven employee killed in November died from a gunshot wound, confirmed the Punta Gorda Police Department.

The body of Kyle Farishian, 18, was found inside the store near Bal Harbor Boulevard and Aqui Esta Drive after authorities responded to a fire at the store around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 1. Surveillance pictures show a person with a covered face, carrying a gas can inside the 7-Eleven the morning of the fire.

“We submitted numerous pieces of evidence to FDLE to include things that were sent to their fire arm section, biology section and forensic sections,” said Katie Heck, Punta Gorda Police Department.

Punta Gorda policed sent 28 pieces of evidence to FDLE. Police tell WINK News, one of the items turned over was a bullet from the murder scene.

Divers and detectives searched the lake behind the Bal Harbor Plaza, as well as a home on the 2100 block of Deborah Drive in connection with the homicide.

Farishian was laid to rest on Nov. 12. Family and friends are now planning a memorial for him to be held on Dec. 13 at Porky’s Roadhouse.
