SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- 18 year old Angel Murillo was taking out the trash on Thursday afternoon, when he says he felt a gun barrel at his head.

He says he was only steps away from his home at Palms of Monterrey on Park Royal Drive, when a man walked up behind him, pointed a gun, and said “get in the car”.

His mother, Angela Murillo, spoke to WINK News after the scary encounter.

“I was shocked, because we’ve been in this community for almost two years and nothing like this has ever happened.”

Murillo was unharmed, but described getting in the car with three black males and one hispanic.

They asked for everything he had on him, but he only had a cell phone. He says they were quick to take off with that, and throw him out of the car.

His mother believes this isn’t a random act of violence, and thinks desperation could be a factor.

” I do think that Christmas Eve unfortunately has something to do with it,” said Murillo. “
