Collier County neighborhood on alert after weekend home invasion

NAPLES, Fla.- A Collier County man is recovering after being attacked early Saturday morning in his home on West Alhambra Circle, just off U.S. 41.

“There were police cars with lights going up and down the whole street,” said Sunny Jackson who was startled to find her street swarming with deputies. “The police were there until 9 or 9:30 in the morning and then there was a crime van.”

Jackson says a woman and her boyfriend, both in their 50s, live in the home with another man. One of the men was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

“Whether he was shot or stabbed or what, I don’t know,” Jackson said.

Detectives say they believe the home was targeted and the victims possibly knew the intruders.

The news of the attack came as a surprise to people in the neighborhood.

“It’s a pretty nice area, we always bike rides and stuff,” said Adriana Pignitor.

Neighbors say they’re now making sure their doors are locked and they’re keeping an eye out for anyone who doesn’t belong.

“It’s a very quiet neighborhood though, we’ve never had anything happen like that,” Jackson added.
