FORT MYERS, Fla.- A former bank teller for BMO-Harris Bank in Bonita Springs is accused of stealing more than $200,000 from a bank client’s account, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Monday. Altagracia Ortuno, 32 of Lehigh Acres, is facing charges for grand theft over $100,000 and criminal use of personal identification information over $50,000. Authorities say Ortuno used the client’s personal identification information to create fraudulent deposit slips and illegally withdraw the money from the victim’s bank account over a period of 15 months. When the client reported the theft to the bank, authorities say Ortuno left the bank for personal reasons and was later terminated from the bank. Ortuno was booked into the Lee County jail on Monday.
