ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – An 81-year-old widow who refuses to sell her Florida condominium has won a battle against one of the nation’s largest timeshare companies, but it remains to be seen which side will win the war.

The Orange County Development Review Committee yanked plans by Westgate Resorts to demolish her two-story condo to make way for a timeshare tower. Instead, the committee approved Westgate’s revised plan, to build the tower around Julieta Corredor’s vacation home.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Westgate has already knocked down all the other units at the site, along with part of Corredor’s condo, making it uninhabitable. But Corredor’s sons still won’t sell – Westgate’s lawyers say they refuse to name a price.

Both sides are now waiting for a ruling on whether construction can continue.
