VIDEO: McDonald’s honors law enforcement with free meals

FORT MYERS, Fla. — McDonald’s locations across Southwest Florida are paying tribute to law enforcement officials Tuesday by giving them free meals.

“For the community to recognize law enforcement and say, ‘Thank you for what you do,’ and for us to be able to interact that way, it’s priceless,” said Capt. Carmine Marceno, a Lee County Sheriff’s deputy.

Officers can visit any of the 56 McDonald’s in the area at anytime before midnight to receive their meal. Tim Fenton, who owns the restaurants, said it’s the least he could do.

“They leave their homes every day to keep us safe,” Fenton said. “They risk their lives. We love what they do. We appreciate what they do and we support what they do.”
