Naples City Council votes on fate of farmers market

Published: Updated:

NAPLES, Fla. — The Naples City Council has received more than 1,000 emails pressing them to keep the local farmers market open.

Those emails were written in response to a letter from the organizers of the market, stating they would close if city council votes against them.

Market organizers said the market cannot be safely held in any other location other than the street because of  the crowds.

However, local business owners want the market to relocate because it was costing their businesses money.

Naples City Council will vote on Oct. 5.
