Golfer attacked by gator at Magnolia Landing gets free clubs

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. Tony Aarts credited his trusty Cleveland Golf putter with saving his life.

Aarts used his putter to subdue a 10-foot gator that attacked him several weeks ago as he was approaching the fourth hole at Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club.

Cleveland Golf heard about Aarts’ near-death experience and decided to not only give him a new putter, but custom clubs with gator etched into the wedges and a reminder of who won the fight.

“It did save my life. There’s no doubt about that,” Aarts said.
