A school bus collided with a Jeep on Monday morning at U.S. 41 and Broward Street near Naples Manor. (Submitted photo) A Jeep sustained heavy damage in a collision with a school bus Monday at U.S. 41 and Broward Street. (Submitted photo) NAPLES MANOR, Fla. Two students on a school bus headed to Lely High School were injured in a Monday morning crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The students were taken to a hospital, but their injuries were minor, according to the FHP. The bus driver, 61-year-old Naples resident Rae Ann Meuninck, was at fault for failing to yield the right of way, the FHP said. Charges are pending a further investigation. The crash took place at 6:40 a.m. at U.S. 41 and Broward Street when the bus made a left turn into the path of a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 20-year-old Saint Tira Prophete of Naples, the FHP said. Prophete was seriously hurt and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. The bus was traveling east on U.S. 41 and got into the left turn lane for Broward Street, State troopers said. The Jeep was headed west on U.S. 41. Both had green lights as the bus made the turn that resulted in the collision, according to the FHP.
