A 30-year-old man was arrested after barricading himself inside of a home Saturday morning, the Cape Coral Police Department said. Christoper Guzman, of Cape Coral, barricaded himself inside of the home at about 6:30 a.m. on the 2700 block of Southwest 27th Street, police said. He was detained an hour later. “A male subject fired rounds into the air from what we believe is a handgun. Went back inside the residence and we were not able to make verbal contact with the subject,” Cape Coral Police Department Lt. Dana Coston said. Photo via Cape Coral Police Department Surfside Boulevard was shut down between the 2500 to 2800 blocks, but reopened after several hours, according to police. Guzman faces charges of aggravated assault, using a firearm under the influence of alcohol, improper exhibit of firearm and resisting officer. Guzman is being held without bond and is due in court on July 5. Police are investigating the incident.
