Red Cross helps 2 Cape Coral adults repair home after overnight fire

Volunteers from the American Red Cross are assisting two people who lost their Cape Coral home overnight due to a fire.

According to the Red Cross, volunteers assisted the Cape Coral Fire Department in coordinating emergency aid to the two adults impacted by the home fire at Southeast 8th Avenue on Thursday.

The two adults were evacuated safely from the burning building.

Firefighters stated that the fire started in the attic of the home.

One man was home at the time and was able to call 911.

The City of Cape Coral has deemed the home unsafe to live in.

Fire investigators are working to pinpoint what started the fire.
