A Naples man faces sexual battery and false imprisonment charges in the north-central Florida county of Gilchrist.

The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded the night of July 9 to a Ginnie Springs campsite after receiving a call from a female screaming she had been raped and was being chased.

When deputies arrived, they found a 17-year-old girl drifting in and out of consciousness. Two others were found unconscious at the same campsite. The suspect, identified as Emanuel Correa Herrera, was also found at the site, and deputies determined the four had traveled there from Naples.

The sheriff’s office said Herrera, 18, sexually battered two of the girls after they consumed a brownie laced with an unknown drug substance.

Herrera was arrested July 20 on three counts of sexual battery, one count each of attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment, and two counts of battery. He was given a $945,000 bond.
