SR-29 south at E Road in Hendry County (Credit: Google Street View) A 58-year-old LaBelle man died after he was struck by a pickup early Saturday in Hendry Country. The Florida Highway Patrol says the man was walking in the southbound lane of SR-29, north of E Road, when the truck struck him. He died at the scene. The truck’s driver, a 32-year-old Felda man, and his two passengers, both children, were not injured. The crash happened at 12:30 a.m. and remains under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
