Motorcyclist killed in crash on US-41 in Port Charlotte, roadway clear

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash that killed a motorcyclist on US-41 in Port Charlotte Monday.

According to FHP, state troopers were at the scene of a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on northbound US-41 just north of Murdock Circle and just south of Veterans Boulevard.

State troopers say a pickup truck made a left turn in front of a motorcycle on northbound US-41, causing the front of the motorcycle to hit the right front of the pickup.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was cleared.

The crash remains under investigation.
