A driver was killed and two other people seriously injured in a crash on Buckingham Road in Buckingham Tuesday night. A pickup truck driven by a 30-year-old LaBelle man was traveling north on Buckingham Road around 7:23 p.m. A second pickup truck, driven by a 57-year-old man with a 60-year-old woman as passenger, both from Fort Myers, was traveling south on Buckingham Road. The LaBelle man attempted to pass other traffic in a no-passing zone at a right curve. The trucks suffered a head-on collision, the first truck becoming engulfed in flames. The LaBelle man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver and passenger were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
