Another warm day on Friday; rain chances return this weekend

Get ready for another day in the low to mid-80s Friday. Look for plenty of sunshine, with most of us set to remain dry.

The exception will be our inland areas, where a few showers will become a possibility after 5 p.m. Friday afternoon.

As we head into the weekend, a cold front will approach the area and stall out over the Florida Peninsula for the next several days.

This will bring the return of rain and more cloud cover Saturday. Look for some isolated rain with a mostly cloudy sky, but it certainly won’t be a wash-out. We’ll also be cooler, with highs set to drop into the mid-70s.

As the front hangs around the area through the first half of next week, we’ll keep with a daily chance for a few hit-or-miss showers through Wednesday. Temperatures should remain in the low to mid-70s for highs next week, with lows returning to the 50s as slightly cooler air tries to trickle in on the north side of the stalled front.

The front should clear the area by Thursday morning, leaving us less humid and dry for the second half of the workweek.
