Credit: Marco Island Police Department The Marco Island Police Department needs your help finding a suspect that they say hit a disabled veteran over a parking spot. On Mar. 1, a suspect was loitering in the parking lot of the Bargain Basket Thrift Store located at 750 Bald Eagle Drive on Marco Island. The victim was a disabled man, and he drove into the parking lot. His vehicle had a valid Florida disabled veteran tag on it. As the victim got out of the vehicle and headed into the store, the suspect challenged his right and validity to park in the disabled space. The two began arguing verbally back and forth. Then the suspect struck the victim “twice with a closed fist.” The suspect ran toward the commercial areas of Marco Island (Windward Dr, Elkcam Cir, Chalmer Dr). he ultimately drove away from the scene in a white SUV in what is believed to be a Toyota Rav4.
