Prices have risen considerably since last year and prices continue to rise while we’re still waiting for the drop.

Shopper Carolyn Medugno said she is spending $100 more at the grocery store and it’s ultimately come to having to eat less to save more.

“I try not to buy ribeye steaks and things like that,” Medugnosaid. “I mean, life has to go on.”

She also said she is ditching name brands for store brands to keep some cash in her wallet.

FGCU economist Victor Claar Ph.D. said the war is only going to make grocery prices worse, “Any increase in the price of oil means that you and I as motorists will be hit harder at the pump. But it also means that we might see higher prices at the grocery store because of those transportation costs rising across the board.”

Since July of last year, we’ve kept track of the same 10 items like eggs, Honey Nut Cherrios, and deodorant at Publix, Walmart, and Target to track the rising costs.

Since last month a twin pack of Dove deodorant at Target went from $4.49 to $7.29

In the same time period, 18 eggs at Walmart increased from $2.80 to $3.

And a box of Honey Nut Cheerios went from $4.10 to $4.50.

Think of creative ways to save. Coupons, shop prices online, sales, cashback options, and try your best to stay on budget.
