3 DeSoto County Fair officials arrested on grand theft and scheme to defraud charges

Three directors of the DeSoto County Fair Association have been arrested on charges ranging from grand theft to scheme to defraud.

On February 21, the Arcadia Police Dept.’s Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation related to suspicious transactions on the DeSoto County Fair Association’s account, according to the Arcadia Police Department.

During the course of this investigation, probable cause was established for the arrest of Fair President, Christopher Stewart, Fair Treasurer, Leann Humphreys, and Fair Secretary, Stevie Rioux.

All three suspects were arrested on charges ranging from grand theft to scheme to defraud.

“The men and women of the Arcadia Police Department strive to keep the citizens safe at all times,” APD said in a statement. “We would like to remind our community to please contact our office for any information you may have involving any crime, and remember, you can remain anonymous.”
