A Cape Coral man facing multiple charges related to child pornography has been sentenced after pleading guilty.

Gordon Lloyd Shaffer, 76, agreed to plead guilty to charges of transmission of child pornography and possession of child pornography. Shaffer was sentenced to three years in prison and ten years of sex offender probation as part of the plea agreement. Shaffer will also be entered into the sex offender registry.

As a condition of his probation, he must enter into a sex offender treatment program once his prison sentence is served.

Shaffer was arrested in June 2021 after Cape Coral police received a tip that child porn had been uploaded using WhatsApp. The subsequent investigation led them to Shaffer.
