Credit: Naples Police Department Collier County Emergency Management reminds contractors and landscapers that they are required to dispose of hurricane debris at an authorized solid waste facility. The Collier County Landfill and several private facilities accept vegetative, construction and demolition, and other types of debris. Contractors must pay the disposal fee when dropping off debris. It is a crime to dump hurricane debris or yard waste by the side of the road and in vacant lots. Residents are asked for their assistance in reporting illegal dumping of debris. Anyone who witnesses illegal dumping is encouraged to write down the details of the incident and immediately contact Collier County Code Enforcement at (239) 252-2440.
