Scattered Tuesday showers under mostly cloudy skies

High temperatures will reach the low 80s and upper 70s under mostly cloudy skies. High humidity will still make all of Southwest Florida feel like it is experiencing highs in the 80s. Boaters will encounter moderate chop within our bays and 1- to 2-foot wave heights in the Gulf due to northeasterly winds that may gust to, or over, 20 mph at times.

Scattered rain is in Tuesday’s forecast. A few inland showers may form in the morning before better rain chances take root after lunchtime. These chances will be higher than what we experienced Monday. Severe weather is not expected. These showers will clear out later Tuesday night.

The streak of inactivity continues in the tropics. There are no named storms expected to form in the Atlantic within the next five days. This is fantastic news, given that there are now only eight days left in the Atlantic hurricane season.
