Man facing five felonies after fleeing from troopers in Lee County Friday

Miguel Andrade, 22, from Port Charlotte is facing five felonies and three misdemeanor charges after getting arrested on Saturday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, troopers were responding to a “Be On The Look Out” alert shortly before 6 p.m.

The alert was related to a stolen Ford Edge SUV going south on I-75 from Charlotte County.

Troopers tried initiating a traffic stop at mile marker 143 in Lee County for the stolen car. Suddenly the driver began fleeing south recklessly and refused to stop.

Then near mile marker 133, the driver lost control of the stolen vehicle. The Ford came to an uncontrolled stop on the grass shoulder.

Andrade was arrested and brought to the Lee County Jail.

  • Grand theft auto (felony)
  • Fleeing and eluding (felony)
  • Burglary (felony)
  • Grand theft of a firearm (felony)
  • Possession of a weapon by convicted felon (felony)
  • Obstruction without violence (misdemeanor)
  • Reckless driving (misdemeanor)
  • No valid license (misdemeanor)
  • Probation violation for prior grand theft auto
