Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced the suspension of all entry fees in Florida state parks during Memorial Day weekend.

During a news conference Tuesday at the Naples Yacht Club, DeSantis stated Seminole State Park, Lovers Key, and other state parks will have their fees waived from May 24-27.

DeSantis then remarked that nearly 35.1 million people have visited Florida during the summer of 2023.

“We hope that this will entice more people to come out this Memorial Day,” said DeSantis.

He then mentioned funding $444 million into Florida state parks since 2019.

An additional $15 million will have been approved for state parks to ensure the future of Florida state parks.
