Authorities are lifting the health alert for blue-green algae in the Caloosahatchee River near the Avla Boat Ramp.

According to the Florida Department of Health in Lee County, the blue-green algae health alert was issued on April 12 and was lifted on Friday.

The health alert was lifted because follow-up samples tested by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection did not reveal algae toxins.

If you see a potential blue-green algae bloom, you can report it online by clicking here. You can also report a potential bloom by calling 855-305-3903 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
