A Fort Myers man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after a jury found him guilty of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

In July 2023, detectives responded to a home on Ortiz Avenue for a reported stabbing. The victim had suffered a large laceration to his face.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies talked to witnesses who stated that “Tommy” stabbed the victim through a car window after the two got into a verbal altercation.

Detectives found 28-year-old Tommy Hayden at a home on Buena Vista Boulevard. A search of the house revealed the clothing Hayden was wearing during the stabbing.

According to LCSO, Hayden has a violent history and has been arrested over 50 times.
