Boat marooned on land following car crash on US 41

The Florida Highway Patrol is responding to a crash involving a boat on U.S. 41 near Tuckers Grade.

Troopers responded to the crash at around 6:36 a.m. on Friday along the Lee and Charlotte County lines.

The boat and a red Dodge Ram truck were found blocking traffic.

The truck sustained severe frontal damage due to the crash.

FHP and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene to divert traffic around the crash while crews work to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadways.

A witness on the scene told WINK News that he assisted the driver of the crashed vehicle, citing that he sustained injuries to his arm.

A tow truck responded to the scene to remove the vehicles, and FHP removed the debris from the road.

The roadways have reopened for regular traffic.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
