President Biden approves Emergency Declaration for SWFL

FEMA has announced that federal disaster assistance is available to Florida to supplement response efforts due to emergency conditions resulting from Tropical Storm Debby.

The statement comes from President Joe Biden’s authorization of FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to reduce the suffering caused by the storm.

FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize and provide equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency.

Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance and reimbursement for mass care including evacuation and shelter support, will be provided for these Southwest Florida counties:

  • Charlotte
  • Collier
  • Hendry
  • Lee

Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, will be provided for:

  • DeSoto
  • Glades
