A homeowner has been left without a roof after winds from the outer bands of Hurricane Helene blew it off of her home in North Fort Myers at Palm Creek Road.

On Thursday, neighbors helped the homeowner clean up the debris and put up a tarp on the roof and the pool of the home.

The people helping who spoke with WINK News said they have come from all over, even other cities and areas, just to help.

The homeowner said she never expected Helene to bring this much damage to her home. She said even Hurricane Ian didn’t cause as much damage.

She was alone when the damage happened.

The North Fort Myers Fire Control District believes a tornado brought by the hurricane caused the damage. However, weather officials have not confirmed this.
