Hurricane Helene canceled school days across Southwest Florida, and now schools are making up for the lost days.

On Thursday, The School District of Lee County announced that “to maintain instructional continuity,” students will go to school on Monday, Oct. 14, and Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.

These dates have been designated as hurricane make-up days in the 2024-25 instructional calendar, which the school board approved in December 2023.

We still haven’t received confirmation from SWFL’s other school districts, but WINK News will announce them once we receive confirmation.
